We’re excited to share a preview of an upcoming article in the May edition of our favorite paper, The Put-in-Bay Gazette

Megabits, LLC is the new wireless internet service provider (WISP) that will be bringing broadband high speed internet to Put-in-Bay. The service will be known as Megabits Island Internet, and will be marketed as Mi2. The company will have construction crews on the island in early May to erect its 140’ tall radio communications tower. This new tower and another existing 120’ tower on the island will enable the company to provide wireless internet service at speeds of 25-100 Mbps to residents and businesses. The company will also be installing a subscription based WiFi network to provide mobile internet to Island residents and visitors. Many Island businesses have supported this initiative and will have Mi2 wifi connectivity available for their customers. Business owners can contact Mi2 to have WiFi hot spots installed at no charge. The initial installations will concentrate on the business district and residential installations will soon follow. Megabits owners have stated they plan on expanding to Middle Bass Island later in 2019. The company can be reached at 1-888-Mi2-3456 or online at www.PIBwifi.com.
